Joining the ranks of the working again...

Today marked the official end to the four month 'sabbatical' for me. Its been a great four months off - I've really enjoyed every minute of it. During mid-Jan, I started looking at putting a structure together that would allow me to do some consulting work through. Today I started on what looks to be a four month contract - in an environment that I'm quite familiar with. In fact, it is the position that I occupied about 4 years ago - they need some help to sort a few things over the next couple of months, and I was ready and available to join the ranks of the working again. It was done on the basis that I could have the flexibility to spend one day per week on other opportunities, so I'm quite chuffed about that. It'll mean that I get to help out for four days of the week, and focus on building other relationships, and hopefully securing other contracts on the fifth day of the week.
How does it feel? Pretty good actually. Besides the traffic this morning (1 hour and 40 minutes to get to the office), it feels good to trade the golf clubs for the laptop between 9am and 5pm each day. Not too sure how long that feeling will last, but its pretty good at the moment :-)

The puzzle cube - another in the wooden puzzle series. Little more challenging that the pyramid - I'd rate this a 6 out of ten on the difficulty ranking.

Sun setting over the west rand - driving home from my second round in the pre-league tournament. Lost by a narrow margin 2-3 (9-7 in the fifth).

Another pic from the wooden puzzle series. To state the obvious, this is a wooden pyramid puzzle - made up from various shapes and pieces. Relatively simple to solve.

The par 5 3rd hole at Houghton. Early morning tee-off with Graham, Anthony and Di. Shot a 93 - completely hacked the second nine, after a respectable 45 on the first. Although, considering I've raised my bat here before, I guess I should be fairly happy with the 93.

K and I enjoyed a fantastic braai at Tsvet and Graham's place on Sat afternoon. We were joined by Andre and Melanie - pictured here is little Nicholas Cort.

The exciting Pro 20 Series match between the Highveld Lions and Cape Cobras. The Lions needed one run from the last ball of the match, and it was given to them courtesy of Alan Dawson's wide. Apparently this match was the highest score in a Pro 20 cricket match - over 180 runs sscored by both teams in their 20 overs.
